I'm Throwing Down The Towel.....

Can't even complete 50% aka the Undersuit of my Haldir Elven Archer Armor in time for this Sat's Event. >__<

Progress had been extremely slow with lots of delay that I think I better finish the armor slowly. Who in the world am I kidding anyway to try to put everything together in 5 days when most other took 9 months? @__@ Fine, I had collected the materials for quite some time and started doing certain parts since last Oct but still to try to draft, cut, glue, paint most of them in 5 days? I..AM...INSANE! And who was I kidding when I choose to go the hard way to create some of the parts like actual scales for the Scales Skirt when I could just had used Julia's method instead by cutting V-Slits on a Gold-Painted Cloth?

This is what I had completed so far:

• Underskirt: Attached the skirt to the Size M U2 T-Shirt and just need to hem it to shorten it up and tie the cording that makes the skirt snuggle around my waist. Yub, Velvet too heavy for the T-Shirt to support and the circumference ended up more than 38" (my waist is now 35" but hip around 40-42 o__O ) so got to use the cording. Luckily there is a hem around the place where the T-Shirt is hand stiched, then machine stitched to the Underskirt. Oh! I used 1.25 circle to ensure the skirt look very full. -__^
• Scales Skirt: One managed to paste 1 panel full and the bottom of the other 3 before the UHU Glue runs out and the Copper scales too. So off to get another 2 big tube of UHU Glue, get more of that Gold Cloth and paint more Gold and Transtition Copper Scales. And since the glue runs out, can't glue on the scales onto the Neck Scales. Only managed to sew on SOME of the scales so since I gonna take my joyly good time now to complete my Haldir Armor, gonna machine stitch the scales for every 3-5 rows glued down. Need also to get a leather hole puncher and medium size eyelets, other than Leather/Vinyl Bias Tape, about 1/2" wide I think.
• Neck Scales: Only did the base out of the Brown Linen and Interfacing (Spotlight Iron-On Interfacing SUCK and too thin! >__< ). Gotten a 14" Open End Zip but feel it's a bit too long. And the base doesn't lie comfortably on my chest so maybe will ended up cutting it to a shape similar to Stephanie's or just redo it into a shirt like the original. o__O
• Vinyl Vest: Sent to No. 1 Costumes Costumes which cost me SGD180 (yes, a HUGE BOMB there! >__< ). Will got for fitting later today and maybe get it back next week since I'm now in no hurry to wear it. -__-
• Undershirt: Just gonna paint the scales onto the sleeves as I think if I do a new sleeves, the armor hole may not be big enough or able to stretch to fit my big Upper Armor. I'm a lazy bumb as usual. -__-

So later today will be my last attempt to try to glue together the Vambraces and Shoulder Bells, paint them and do the Cloak in the Travelling Look.

Then again, seems unrealistic and that is just me as usual. @__@ Will probably just be Haldir March Warden this Sat and hope I'm the only one completing in the Individual Movie Category. -__-

NEXT DEADLINE: Think I should make it CosFesta this Feb 2005. I got to premiere my Haldir Elven Archer soon rite before I can do the Disco version and then do the parts for Rumil/Anarien for The 2006 Toronto Gathering.

Ps: Am kinda achieving my progress using my digicam but I have no computer to install the program into to upload onto a CD. So the photos will come later. Guess got to get a new 258MB card tomolo for Sat too. -__-
